Basic Pistol Course

Basic Pistol is the starting point for most students. This one day course provides the fundamentals that will help you become a safe and accurate shooter. You also learn how to safely shoot in a range environment around other people. These important skills allow other shooters to be comfortable that you know what you are doing especially as you progress through the more advanced level courses where you will be shooting while on the move and in other advanced level scenarios.

At The Shooting Institute we understand that solid fundamental shooting and gun handling skills are the foundation on which you can build a successful shooting experience.

In the Basic Pistol class you will gain the basic knowledge and attitude needed to safely own and operate handguns of various types (Semi-Automatic or Revolvers). Course covers gun safety, gun storage, how to load, unload and safely fire a handgun. Included are shooting fundamentals such as sight picture, grip, stance, trigger control etc. Learn the NRA rules for safe gun handling, pistol parts and how they work, Ammunition 101, and Range Rules. The last section is live fire to make sure you have learned how to apply all course information.

With this course you will receive an NRA book of pistol basics, A displayable certificate of completion, NRA gun safety rules brochure, plus more.

The Basic Pistol Course contains a full 8 hours of instruction.

Ammunition Requirement is 50 rounds per student.
